This is the
EWI Tourcase
tm Model A8UE-14 anti-shock road rack.
The A8UE-14 series rack depth
is 14" measured from the front rack rails to the back rails. The
rack rails, both front and back, are drilled and tapped for #10 x 32
racking screws. A pouch of rack screws are supplied with each
case.
The case is equipped
with two removable covers (lids). Each lid has two heavy duty
ball corners and two "dished" ball corners. The inside of the
AU series lids are fully padded with medium density foam rubber.
The case is equipped
with 2 each medium sized recessed butterfly latches per lid to
secure the lids to the case and 2 each recessed padded flip-handles,
one on each side. The rivets on the handles are
backed with backing washers to ensure strength and durability.
The extrusion is all
aluminum and double walled. The side panels are constructed
with 3/8 inch hardwood plywood with an black ABS laminate surface.
The padding between the outer case and inner rack shell is 1 inch
thick close cell foam, fully lined. The case is
assembled with good quality rivets. This case does NOT come
equipped with casters.
These cases are
manufactured to exacting tolerances with excellent fit and finish.
Either cover will fit on either side of the case,
right-side up or upside down. In-fact, the lid for any one
model of case will fit correctly on
any other case of the same model.
These are well made,
very heavy duty cases suitable for a variety of racking applications.
