These are the EWI Tourcase
tm Model CU-P-22 series 3 lid combo mixer and amplifier Rack Road Case suitable for standard 19" rack
mount equipment with a deep front to back size to accommodate deeper
mixers like the Yamaha 01V96. Currently 3 models are
available: C4UE-P-22 (4 space), C6UE-P-22 (6 space) and the C16U-R-22 (16 space).
All CU-P-22 series cases
have 22" racking depth from the front rails to the back rails.
The rack rails, both front and back, are drilled and tapped for #10
x 32 racking screws. A pouch of rack screws is supplied with each case.
Please note that the rack rails are actually two spaces longer than
the model number implies. If your mixer depth, when laid flat,
allows you to use this space for racking other equipment, that's
great. If however, your mixer sticks down into this space when laid
flat, the panel blanks will cover this area and you will still have
the full use of the rated rack space. Also Note: the supplied
panel blanks or a piece of rack equipment must be installed in the
front and back rails at all times to provide rigidity to the case.
The slant mixer
mounting portion of the CU-P-22 series cases is designed to accommodate
mixers with a maximum rack mount requirement of 12U (21") front to
back. A longer front to back
mixer of up-to 24" is possible to mount in this case by
extending a portion of the mixer into the covers; however, the mixer
rack rails are 21" long. The slant mixer rails are supported
at the back with ratcheting tilting support which allow the mixer to
be positioned at 10 different angles ranging from "flat" or
horizontal to a maximum slanted position of approximately 18 degrees.
The CU-P-22 series is
equipped with 3 lids (covers), which are: front, back, and top. The
lids are secured with 8 ea. medium sized recessed butterfly latches, 4 per lid. These cases are
also equipped with 2 ea. recessed padded flip-handles, on each side (4
total). The rivets on the handles are backed with backing
washers to ensure strength and durability. Each lid has four heavy duty ball corners. The inside of the
CU-R-22
series lids are fully padded with medium density foam rubber.
The extrusion is all aluminum and double walled. The side
panels are constructed with 3/8 inch hardwood plywood with an black
ABS laminate surface. The case is assembled with good quality
rivets. There are 4 each. heavy duty 4" casters on the bottom, two
of which are locking style. Please note that the C4UE-P-22 and
C6UE-P-22 do not come with casters or caster board.
The cases are shipped
boxed with the casters un-mounted and included inside the case.
Mounting is simple and only requires a 12MM wrench or Crescent
wrench. All the hardware is included to mount the casters and
the mounting holes are pre-drilled with backing tee-nuts already
in-place.
These cases are
manufactured to exacting tolerances with excellent fit and finish.
Either lid will perfectly fit on either side of the case,
right-side up or upside down. In fact, the lid for any one
model of case will fit correctly on
any other case of the same model.
These are well made,
very heavy duty cases.
